UKM Expands Manufacturing Capabilities

(Kulpsville, Pa) Due to continued strength in the new railcar market, UKM has continued to modernize and add new equipment in several key areas of it's shop.  These include the following:

  • The addition of a new Accurpress America 1/4 x 10' hydraulic shear and Accurpress America 250 ton 12' hydraulic press brake.

  • Retooling it's prototype shop with a new Bridgeport EZ Vision SERIES I milling machine.

  • Replacement of all welders in it's fabrication shop with new Lincoln Power Wave 355M MIG units.

  • Addition of a new Fadal VMC 6535 HTX (2007) CNC Vertical Machining Center with a 4th axis rotary table and tombstone.

  • The addition of a new 10' wide by 8' high by 12' deep Global Model IFP-10812-S Paint Spray Booth and 10,000 CFM Direct Fired Gas Heated Air Make-up Unit.

The modernization allows UKM to keep pace with the expanding transit industry and to better serve it's growing list of satisfied customers.
