UKM's manufacturing facilities are uniquely
qualified to recondition transit rotating equipment that might otherwise
be replaced with new equipment.
We can recondition a wide variety of equipment, including:
• gear cases
• journal boxes
• truck bolsters
• motor frames
• armature shafts
• axles
• other components often replaced with new
If OEM dimensions and tolerances are available, UKM can write a
rebuild specification tailored to fit any scope and budget.
Bores, holes and other surfaces that are candidates for reconditioning
are normally built up using a variety of welding or plasma spray
techniques. Prior to this, equipment is washed and non-destructive
tested in-house using dye penetrate or magnu flux inspection techniques
by level II personnel.
Machining is performed in house using a horizontal CNC machining
center and verified to spec. using the CMM.
